Milan is on everybody’s radar these days, mainly due to the Expo 2015 that’s taking place in the city from May to the end of October 2015. The 12hrs team has visited the city many times, and a 12hrs to Milan guide is right around the corner. To tide you over until the release of our guide, let’s have a look at a recent addition to the city’s lively food scene.

Dry Milano combines two of our favorite things, pizza and cocktails. The bar is run by a team of chefs, designers and foodies called food.different that is also responsible for the popular restaurant Pisacco. The name Dry stems from the ‘dry principle’ in software programming which states ‘don’t repeat yourself’. So instead of copying the formula that made Pisacco such a success, food.different tried out a completely different approach at their new venue.

Dry Milano is a figuratively and literally stripped down place – the walls are bare, revealing different layers of paint, the interior sparse and simplistic, and the menu is kept very simple. Patrons get to choose from a selection of craft cocktails and homemade pizzas and focacce, starting at only 5 Euro (approximately 5,70 USD).

Instead of art on the walls, you’ll see video projections from different artists, curated by Dry’s own art director.
