There are many ways to explore Berlin, and our guide 12hrs in Berlin gives you some great ideas of where to start. But while Berlin has a well-working public transport system with tons of busses, U- and S-Bahns, there is another great way to get around: by bike. Especially now, with the summer right around the corner, Berlin is surprisingly bike-able.
Our favorite place to rent a bike in the city is definitely Hello World Berlin. The young company rents out beautiful Fixed Gear, Single Speed and racing bikes at really low rates (prices start around 11 Euro/24 hours). And the process is super simple: Just reserve a bike online, pay via PayPal, and collect it at your chosen date. You have to leave a deposit of 50 Euro in cash that you'll get back once you returned your ride. Included in the price is a lock and lighting, and for a little extra fee the guys can provide you with helmets, backpacks and fenders.
